After doing some online research based on their looks and what type of roles they have played in movies, I have chosen these people (tentatively) as my cast of Crimes of the Heart:
Lenny - Sandra Bullock
Chick - Katherine Heigl
Doc - Marc Wahlberg
Meg - Reese Witherspoon
Babe - Tina Fey
Barnette - Tom Cruise
I chose these people because they are who I picture as the actors in an updated version of Crimes of the Heart and I believe they would play these roles extremely well based on past acting experiences.

ReplyDeleteYou actually should not be casting this play until you do the work that is necessary before casting it.
As the director would start with listing the given circumstances for each of these characters, that is where you need to start also.
Only then can you come up with a justifiable analysis for each character which you would then use to find the best actor for each role.
Even when you believe that you have chosen the best actor, then you will still have to justify your choice: why or how does this actor best serve what you believe are the essential characteristics of this character (based on the critical thinking you need to have done from the start).
All of this work needs to be posted on your blog -- not just the final casting -- which is what you have now -- but which you have not begun to justify.
